Setup a Scriptel ProScript Signature Pad for Thick/Thin Client on XenApp / XenDesktop

Instructions

Open up the "Remote Desktop Connection."

If you don't know where this is you can search in your program list for it.

Step 1 Enable USB forwarding.
Set the "Computer" field to the name of your remote XenDesktop. And then click on the "Connect" button.

  1. Enter your Username and Password for the system, then click the "OK" button.
  2. Start "Citrix Studio."
  3. Make sure "Policies" is selected on the left hand side, then close the Welcome screen.
  4. For this instruction, use the "Unfiltered" policy.
  5. Select the "Unfiltered" policy, then select "Edit Policy..."
  6. Find the USB settings by typing "USB" into the search field.
  7. Enable USB forwarding by editing the "Client USB device redirection" setting.
  8. Set the option to "Allowed."
  9. Click "OK" to save the change to the setting.
  10. Set which device is forwarded by editing the "Client USB device redirection rules" policy.
  11. Click the "New" button to create a new rule.
  12. The rule is "Allow: VID=18FB". Enter it and click "Accept."
  13. Click "OK" at the bottom to save this rule.
  14. Click the "Next" button at the bottom to move on.
  15. Click the "Finish" button at the bottom.
  16. Close "Citrix Studio."
  17. Close the "Remote Desktop Connection."

Step 2: Connect a Scriptel Pad Locally
On your client machine:

  1. Connect a Scriptel ST device.
  2. Your machine may search for and install a new driver. Let this process finish before moving forward.
  3. After the drivers have successfully installed, wait five minutes for the networking between the machines to recognize the new signature pad.

Step 3: Install ScripTouch Sign and Save on the Client Machine

  1. Open the "Citrix Receiver" and then start up your virtual desktop.
  2. After the virtual desktop launches, minimize the browser so that it's out of the way.
  3. When the virtual desktop starts connecting, it will detect the new Scriptel pad.
  4. Click on the alert in the bottom right to add the new pad to this session.
  5. Click the checkbox next to the name of the new Scriptel product and then click the "Connect" button to add to the session.
  6. To confirm that your new Scriptel device is connected, pull down the Citrix toolbar and then click the "Devices" button.
  7. If a device is properly connected you'll see its name with a checkmark next to it. This indicates success.
  8. Now that the virtual desktop is active and the pad has been successfully connected to our session, we're going to install "Sign and Save" by launching a browser and surfing to https://scriptel.com/support/downloads.
  9. After the ScriptTouch software downloads page has finished loading, scroll down to the ScripTouch "Sign and Save" area and click the blue "Download" button.
  10. After the software has finished downloading, install "Sign and Save."
  11. Click the radio button for "I accept the terms of the license agreement" and then click the "Next" button.
  12. After "Sign and Save" has been installed, minimize the browser to get it out of the way.

This is the end of Step 3.

Step 4: Running "Sign and Save" and capturing a signature

  1. Open "Sign and Save" by double clicking on its icon on the desktop.
  2. After "Sign and Save" opens, it will show a green light next to the name of the pad if the pad has been successfully connected to "Sign and Save."
  3. Once the pad is connected to "Sign and Save," you can start signing on it and the signature will be captured.
